This Year’s Legal Food Frenzy Gives Our Local Food Bank a Huge Boost!

Martin & Helms once again participated in the Alabama Legal Food Frenzy, which is a fun and friendly state-wide competition between law firms to see who can raise the most money to benefit our local food banks. And, we’re proud to announce, we exceeded our wildest expectations!

Our team is a regular supporter of the Food Bank of North Alabama, and as 2020’s winners of the Attorney General’s Cup, we were ready to both defend our title and give even more to the Food Bank this year.

We’re so proud to announce that Martin & Helms was named the 2021 winner of the Alabama Legal Food Frenzy, taking home the Attorney General’s Cup after donating 20,000 meals (that’s 5,000 meals per team member) to the Food Bank of North Alabama. We also took home the win in the category for small law firms.

Of course, we don’t consider this a “win” for ourselves – we consider this a win for food banks across Alabama. Food banks and pantries have been struggling since the pandemic started more than a year ago, and our food- and housing-insecure citizens need our help. Not only is it an honor to participate in the Legal Food Frenzy, it’s part of our civic duty and we enjoyed every minute of it.

About the Legal Food Frenzy

The Legal Food Frenzy is in its sixth year, with this being its first virtual food drive. According to the organization:

In even the most uneventful times, many of our neighbors in need turn to food banks for assistance. Alabama’s network of food banks provides support during times of personal, natural and political disasters… The Legal Food Frenzy is a tangible example of the power lawyers have when we work together toward a common service goal: providing support for our fellow Alabamians in need of food assistance.

The work doesn’t stop here
